In addition, the Santa Cruz winery Clos de La Tech sponsored the event. You can learn more about the vineyard by visiting https://www.closdelatech.com. Special thanks to the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Silicon Valley for making it happen!
Huge thanks to The New Mastersounds and Crosby Roamann Wines for throwing yet another great Session in the Feed.fm Bass-ment. It was, as always, a blast!

Superb alt-folk duo The Royal Oui stopped by and played a killer set here in the Feed.fm Bass-ment. Enjoy the video here and be sure to check out the band at www.theroyaloui.com!
From their website: “The Royal Oui are not afraid to get their hands dirty. The husband and wife duo of Ari Shine and Adrienne Pierce have cultivated grassroots fan bases through word of mouth and extensive touring across several continents, as well as exposure through film and television. The fruits of their labour are abundant. Ari was the co-winner of the John Lennon Song of the Year award (with Gaby Moreno – 2006), a Grammy shortlister for Americana album of the year (2012), and handpicked tour mate of Chris Shifflet (Foo Fighters). Adrienne came into renown as the West Coast songstress who toured with the likes of Jane Siberry and Damien Rice, while having her songs exposed to millions through TV (Grey’s Anatomy), soundtrack albums (Veronica Mars), and commercial (FIAT) placements.”
“Ari Shine and Adrienne Pierce have been recording music for years, working separately as solo artists before carving out The Royal Oui’s hazy, swooning sound together…
The EP is called Forecast. And things are looking bright.”
— American Songwriter
“Ari Shine and Adrienne Pierce make up the Royal Oui, whose debut EP, Forecast, walks a dreamy line between soft-jangle pop and languid country-noir.”
— The Georgia Straight
We were thrilled to host Larkin Poe, of RH Music — Restoration Hardware’s own record label, here at the Feed.fm bass-ment studio on Wednesday, 9/2. Larkin Poe is a soulful, folk rock group made up of Atlanta-based sister duo Rebecca and Megan Lovell. Aged only 22 and 24 respectively, the sisters are already accomplished musicians boasting a musical range that spans folk-rock and acoustic R&B. They have released five EPs together, have toured internationally in 2011 as a part of Elvis Costello’s touring band, and in 2013 when they performed with Kristian Bush of Sugarland at the first ever C2C: Country to Country music festival in London. The band, named after their great-great-great-grandfather (Edgar Allan Poe’s cousin) has recently toured the US and Europe, and plans to release a full length album in the near future. Needless to day, we were incredibly excited — this was a memorable session. For more info on the band, be sure to check out their website http://www.larkinpoe.com/.

This coming Saturday, 9/21/13, Eddie Roberts and his Leeds-based funk band The New Mastersounds — close friends of Feed.fm — will be returning to the bass-ment for a session, a year removed from the release of their album “Out on the Faultline” which dropped on November 5, 2012 on One Note Records. On Monday, 5/20/2013 from 2-4PM we hosted another special music and wine sampling edition of the Fuzz Sessions series live on the FUZZ Sessions Blog featuring music by Oakland-based soul rockers Whiskerman, wine supplied by the award-winning Napa Valley winery Crosby Roamann, and an appearance by wine celebrity Mark Oldman! The band played a 45 minute set in the BASS-ment studio before Jeff sat down for an interview and wine sampling round table with Oldman, Sean McBride from Crosby Roamann, and the band members!
Oakland-based indie rockers Whiskerman brought their versatile, soulful sound to the FUZZ Bass-ment studio for a session on May 20, 2013, which can be viewed exclusively on the FUZZ Sessions Blog. Growing up the youngest in a family of musicians, the band’s lead man Graham Patzner incorporates a variety of cross-genre influences into his music vision. Patzner is supported by his brother Lewis Patzner (Judgement Day, Devotionals) on cello, Will Lawrence on bass, Nick Cobbett on drums, and Charles Lloyd (Cash Pony) on guitar and sitar. Whiskerman will be stopping by the studio just before heading to perform at the The Pocket in Santa Cruz, CA at 8PM. For more information on when the band will be playing near you, check out their website at www.whiskerman.com and to sample their music, check out their Bandcamp site.
Immediately after the Whiskerman set, Napa Valley-based winery Crosby Roamann poured wines and participated in a round table discussion with Jeff! Husband and wife-team Juliana and Sean McBride closely oversee the crafting and distribution of the wines, and employ a unique, low-intereference philosophy in winemaking that they discussed in detail with Jeff. Needless to say, we were very excited to host them and sample their wines! For more information on Crosby Roamann, check out http://www.crosbyroamann.com/.
Last but not least, author, leading wine personality, and longtime friend of FUZZ Mark Oldman made his third appearance on the FUZZ Sessions, and joined Jeff, the band, and Sean McBride of Crosby Roamann for a discussion of wine and music. Additionally, Oldman discussed a few of the wines he is excited about at the moment. The wine expert for Pottery Barn, wine columnist for Food Network, and twice winner of the Georges Duboeuf Best Wine Book of the Year Award, we were ecstatic about Oldman’s return to the FUZZ Sessions! For more information on Oldman, check out www.markoldman.com.
Cambridge based folk duo Tall Heights (Tim Harrington and Paul Wright- Tim+Paul=Tall, Harrington+Wright=Height) came into our bass-ment studio on March 11 to showcase their unique combination of cello, acoustic guitar, and tight vocal harmonies. They just announced that their first full length album, Man of Stone, will be released on May 14, and can be pre-ordered here. Tall Heights is up and coming on the east coast folk scene – definitely a group to keep an eye on.
“Every once in a blue moon you get blown away by an act you’d previously not heard of. Fans of Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, fans of great music and art in general need to be aware of Tall Heights. What an incredible duo.” –Ryan Montbleau
Take a listen to see for yourself!

Immediately following the The New Mastersounds set, Todd Maus showcased a variety of the wines produced at Deering Wine in Sonoma, CA! Both raised in families with rich histories in farming and agriculture, the two have since dedicated themselves to producing great wines. Deering Wine has produced several “Best of Class” wines including the Deering 2008 Maus Vineyard Zinfandel and the Deering 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon.
