Immediately following the Cuckoo Chaos session, chamber-pop musician Laura Weinbach and her band Foxtails Brigade will be in the building to do a session that you will not want to miss! The Bay Area-based band released their second full length album “Time Is Passed” in November of 2012, and are stopping through the FUZZ bass-ment just two days before they play a show at San Francisco’s historic Jazz club Yoshi’s at 7PM on Sunday 2/10/2013. Boasting a sound that is equally haunting as it is disarming, Foxtails Brigade has a sound you are sure to be entranced by. This session will mark the second time we’ve been lucky enough to host them for a session, and for more information on the band and when they are performing you, check out www.foxtailsbrigade.com.
Cuckoo Chaos is a five-piece indie rock band who we’re lucky to have coming through the “bass-ment” for a session (that can be viewed at Sessions Blog) before they jet across the Bay Bridge for an 8 p.m. show at The New Parish in Oakland, CA. The band, winner of “Best Alternative Band” at the 2010 San Diego Music Awards, released a seven-song EP titled Woman on Lefse Records (Teen Daze) in September 2011, dropped a 7″ Vinyl on White Iris Records in fall of 2012, and are currently working on tracking for their new album at Big Fish Recording Studios in Encinitas, CA with acclaimed sound engineer/producer Stuart Schenk (Busta Rhymes, Stevie Wonder, Dr. Dre). Be sure to check out the band’s site and blog for more info on the band, their tour, and upcoming album!
San Jose-based singing extraordinaire Anya Kvitka and her band the Get Down came through the Fuzz studio on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, to bless us with their “musical schizophrenia.” The 25-year old Bay Area native incorporates elements of rock, soul/funk, hip-hop, dubstep, reggae, and jazz into her sound, and released a self-titled EP to the iTunes store last July. For more info, check out http://www.anyakvitka.com/, and in case you missed the live set, BE SURE to check the video below!
American folk rockers Avi Vinocur (former guitarist of The Stone Foxes) and Patrick Dyer Wolf of Goodnight, Texas came in for a session on Friday, November 2, 2012, having just released their debut EP A Long Life of Living in early October. The duo formed the band over a plate of brisket following a seredipitous meeting in the town of Goodnight, Texas while both were trecking cross country by foot. The dudes are hilarious. Check out the video below to see their basement performance, and for more info on their crazy backstory, check out the band’s website at http://www.hiwearegoodnighttexashowareyou.com/.
FUZZ welcomed Hannah Georgas to the Fuzz basement for a session on November 1, 2012. The up-and-coming Canadian pop/rock singer-songwriter stopped by on the heels of the release of her second, self-titled album, admist her North American tour! It was absolute pleasure having her and the rest of the band — they killed it. In case you missed the session, check the Vimeo link below, and for more on Hannah Georgas visit her website at http://www.hannahgeorgas.com/.
Also, check out the sweet pics we got to take with the band right outside the Fuzz offices!

FUZZ Welcomes DAWNS – Monday, 9/17 at 1PM Pacific
On Monday, 9/17 we had the honor of having DAWNS perform in the FUZZ studios for the first inaugural FUZZ Session. The touring band is an eclectic six-piece outfit with upright bass, cello, lap steel, bow saw and percussion and they stopped by the basement while passing through San Francisco on their way to LA amidst their fall tour — which included stops in LA, Austin, Milwaukee, Philadelpia and NYC for multiple CMJ performances. To find out more about the indie-rockers make sure to check out their website here, and in case you missed it check out video of the session below!
ALO is seriously one of my fave bands on the planet. We are lucky to have them back in the studio this coming Friday, February 24th at 11AM Pacific. They have a BIG show at the Fillmore on Saturday, February 25th here in San Francisco. Get tix and show info here.
Welcome the Dodecaphonics from Dartmouth College. This is the first acappella group we will have here in the studio in San Francisco. The 18-member group (I hope they can all fit!) will be performing at high noon Pacific TODAY, December 12, 2011. This is gonna be awesome!
We are fired up to have Sporting Life in the studio on Friday, December 2, 2011 at high noon Pacific Time. The San Francisco-based indie rock band released it’s EP “Singles” which is available at Amazon and iTunes. The band also recently played at one of my favorite venues, The Bottom of the Hill, in August. Definitely a band to keep an eye out for. Check out http://livethesportinglife.com for more info… and make sure you read the “legalese” bio – it’s hilarious!
